LETTER FROM COCOTEA, FOUNDER & CEO
“CocoTea Beauty Academy began as a simple prayer in January 2024, during one of the most humbling and uncertain seasons of my life. I remember asking God, “Why am I wasting away at a job I hate?” On paper, things looked good — I was signed to a top talent agency, booked 15+ weddings a year, and had loyal clients. Yet, sitting in a cubicle, I felt stuck. Deep down, I knew my purpose was bigger than my surroundings.
In that still moment, God revealed why He had placed me in that role as a federal training instructor — not to waste my time, but to prepare me. Every skill I gained in those seven years of training, combined with my 12+ years as a professional makeup artist, was building me for something greater. That “something” became the vision for CocoTea Beauty Academy.
This Academy is more than a school. It’s a legacy project — my way of giving back to the industry that shaped me, creating stability for fellow artists, and inspiring the next generation to dream bigger and reach higher. CocoTea is built by an artist, and devoted to every artist.
To my students: I am honored you’re here. You are stepping into one of the most rewarding industries in the world — Beauty. At C.B.A, you’ll be part of Maryland’s first career school to offer specialized education in bridal, editorial, and special effects makeup, while also gaining cross-training in hair, nails, and esthetics. You’ll learn business skills like budgeting and contracts, and leave not just as creatives, but as empowered professionals. Nothing like this exists anywhere else. Embrace this opportunity fully — challenge yourself, build lifelong connections, and remember: your career is truly in your hands.
