This allows us to provide a seamless, uninterrupted education experience and ensures our academy maintains the highest standards of training without gaps in instruction, or the distraction and stress of monthly billing.

    • Pay Directly: Tuition is billed per program and paid in full prior to the program start date.

    • Financing Available: For students who need additional flexibility, CocoTea partners with trusted financing organizations that specialize in career and trade school loans. These lenders allow you to invest in your education today and repay over time, through monthly billing.

    • Scholarships & Grants: CocoTea Beauty Academy accepts scholarships and eligible grants where applicable (See Affordability).

  • CocoTea Beauty Academy is licensed by the State of Maryland. Under current Maryland law, the State Board of Cosmetologists requires 600 hours of esthetics training (or 12 months of apprenticeship) in order to qualify for the Esthetician License.

CocoTea Beauty Academy offers a comprehensive 1,200-hour esthetics program. While the state requirement remains 600 hours, our advanced curriculum provides twice the training to ensure our graduates are not only eligible for licensure but also highly prepared for today’s competitive beauty industry.

Graduates of our program will be fully qualified to apply for the Maryland Limited Esthetician License, which as of October 1, 2025 includes the authority to perform eyelash extension services in addition to traditional esthetic practices.

    • Advanced Skill Development: Double the training hours mean deeper mastery of techniques and advanced modalities not typically covered in shorter programs.

    • Client Readiness: More supervised practice hours build confidence, speed, and precision—helping you enter the workforce ready to excel.

    • Expanded Services: With the updated esthetics license scope, you’ll be prepared to offer in-demand services such as eyelash extensions, ensuring greater career versatility.

    • Professional Advantage: Employers and clients alike recognize the difference in training. A 1,200-hour education sets you apart as a highly skilled professional.

  • Esthetics licenses issued in Maryland are not automatically transferable to other states. Each state has its own licensing requirements and regulations set by its State Board of Cosmetology. However, many states offer reciprocity or license transfer options if you meet their training hour and exam requirements.

If you’re moving, you’ll need to contact the cosmetology or esthetics board in your new state to determine:

    • Whether Maryland’s training hours meet their minimum requirement

    • If additional coursework, exams, or fees are required for reciprocity

    • What documentation (transcripts, verification of licensure, etc.) you must submit

It’s best to verify these details before relocating or practicing in another jurisdiction.
