Class Structure

Continuing Education class is organized into 6 impactful hours, that satisfy the MD State Board of Cosmetology’s requirements. Classes are offered once every 3 months on a designated Saturday. Dates will be announced on our website below, or call our office for more information.

In order to register, working professionals in the esthetic, nail, or hair industry must present:

  • current professional license,

  • state identification.

  • a fee of $125 per person

COURSES A LA CARTE

  • Six Credits Required per Renewal Period

    Beginning January 1, 2026, all licensed cosmetologists, estheticians, nail technicians, and hairstylists in Maryland must complete six hours of approved continuing education during each license renewal cycle

  • Mandatory Topics: At Least Two Hours

    Of the six required hours, a minimum of two must cover specific “required” topics such as:

    Health

    Safety

    Welfare

    Maryland Board Laws & Regulations

  • Remaining Four Hours Are Elective

    The remaining four hours can be fulfilled through elective topics, such as:

    Business skills

    Product knowledge

    Professional practices (e.g., ethics, sanitation, industry updates)

  • License Renewal Cycle — MD Board of Cosmetologists

    Maryland cosmetology-related licenses must be renewed every two years. The Board automatically sends renewal information approximately 60 days before your license expiration date, so you know when your window to renew opens!
